When we first started Wren in 2019, we focused on supporting quantifiable carbon offset projects. But we know carbon offsets won’t solve the climate crisis alone—they must be coupled with ambitious climate policy, rapid technological progress, and systems-change.
To maximize our impact, we expanded our portfolio. In 2022, we added projects that support climate policy advocacy, which highlighted the need for nuanced categorization and certification standards.
